# Domains

PageWeave sells domain registrations and manages them from your dashboard. The registration itself is provided through our sponsoring registrar, INWX — and it is registration only: DNS hosting and website serving are separate layers you combine with it (see [DNS & Hostnames](/docs/dns)). Purchasing a domain automatically provisions its DNS zone on PageWeave nameservers and points the registration at them, so records are managed here too — domains registered elsewhere can use PageWeave DNS as well. To serve the name with a website, attach it as a hostname.

The sections below are the disclosures we publish as a reseller: renewal and restore fees, how we notify you about expiry, and our deletion and auto-renewal policy.

## Lifecycle

| Stage | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| Registration | You prepay a term — one year or longer, depending on the TLD. |
| Renewal | Auto-renew is on by default: before the expiry date we charge the renewal fee to the payment method on file. The renewal emails include a direct link to update it. |
| Cancellation | You can cancel at any time before expiry. The domain stays live until the end of the paid term and is then deleted at the registrar. A cancellation can be undone until the deletion is under way. |
| Non-renewal | If a domain is not renewed, it is deleted within 45 days after its expiry date. |
| Restore | Until the registry releases the name — typically about 30 days after deletion — a deleted or expired domain can be restored for a per-domain fee, quoted before you confirm. |
| Immediate deletion | You can delete a registration right away from the dashboard, behind an explicit confirmation (typed domain name, an emailed confirmation link, and password re-entry). It is not refundable. |

Once the registry has released a name, it becomes available for anyone to register.

## Fees

- **Renewal fee** — the price shown in your dashboard at registration and again before each renewal; it depends on the TLD.
- **Post-expiration renewal fee** — the same as the renewal fee.
- **Restore fee** — quoted per domain when you request a restore (it includes the registry's redemption fee). Nothing is charged before you confirm.

## Notifications

We email the workspace's owners and admins:

- about **one month** before the expiry date,
- about **one week** before the expiry date,
- **within five days after** the expiry date if the domain has not been renewed by then.

Every message names the domain and its expiry date and links to your dashboard.

## Sponsoring registrar

Domain registrations through PageWeave are sponsored by **INWX GmbH** (Berlin, Germany; IANA ID 1420), an ICANN-accredited registrar. You can look up the registrar of record for any domain via ICANN's [registration data lookup](https://lookup.icann.org).

## Your rights as a registrant

ICANN publishes the [Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities](https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/benefits-2013-09-16-en) — what every registration includes, including your right to renew, restore, and transfer the domain, and the duty to keep the registration data accurate.
