# Notifications

PageWeave keeps you informed while you work: workflow results, approval requests, and errors land in your dashboard inbox — and optionally in your Telegram chat.

## The Dashboard Inbox

The bell icon in the dashboard navbar shows your unread count. Open it to see your notifications:

- **Click a notification** to follow its link (a workflow run, an approval, ...).
- **Marking read** happens when you click through, or via the action on each item.
- **Mark all read** clears the badge in one click.
- Read notifications are pruned after 90 days; unread ones are kept.

Notifications arrive in real time — new items appear without a reload, and the badge stays fresh across open tabs.

## Where Notifications Go

Delivery depends on where an interaction starts:

- **Dashboard interactions** (you working on pageweave.dev) notify you in the inbox.
- **Telegram conversations** reply directly in your chat — answers, approvals, and errors from a chat session stay in the chat.
- **Workflow notifications** (concluded runs, approval requests, failures) go to the inbox by default. You can opt in to also receive them in Telegram.
- **Spam shield alerts** (a form came under attack, protection was raised or restored) go to the inbox by default, like workflow notifications.

If a channel is unreachable — or you opted out — the notification falls back to the dashboard inbox. Nothing gets lost.

## Notification Preferences

Under **Settings → Notifications** you can tune where workflow notifications are delivered:

| Category | Telegram |
|----------|----------|
| Workflow | opt in / opt out |
| Spam | opt in / opt out |

- **Unchecked (default)** — workflow and spam notifications stay in the inbox.
- **Checked** — they are also sent to your Telegram chat.
- The dashboard inbox is always on and needs no setting — it is the fallback for everything.

Changes apply immediately, no save button.

## Connecting Telegram

Connect your Telegram account under **Settings → Telegram**. Once connected and verified, you can enable Telegram delivery in the notification preferences. If the connection is paused or unreachable, everything routes back to the inbox until it is restored.
